Shift4 card payments on PAX A800, Verifone V660p and Verifone Victa
Every card payment in Yumee goes through Shift4 Commerce Engine, and Yumee Restaurant runs on the card terminal itself: the PAX A800, the Verifone V660p and the Verifone Victa. That one connection covers the till, payments you send by link, payments at the table and on your ordering site, and gift cards, so all of your card takings land in the same reports.
Card processing is agreed directly between you and Shift4: you have your own merchant account, and we connect Yumee to it.
At the till
On the PAX A800, Verifone V660p and Verifone Victa, the till app and the card reader are the same device: the server takes the order, presents the terminal to the guest and the bill closes itself when the payment goes through. A tablet or web till can send the sale to a card terminal on the same network instead.
- Contactless, chip and PIN, Apple Pay and Google Pay on the terminal.
- Tips on the card machine: the till can suggest up to three tips, the guest adds theirs on the terminal, and tips show as a total on your reports.
- Refunds from the till against the original sale, limited by staff level.
- A card end-of-day report printed from the terminal, alongside the till’s own Z-report.
- No double charges: if a card was charged but the sale did not save, the till stops a second charge and asks someone to settle it first.
Pay by link and deposits
From a table, send the customer a payment link by email; they pay on their phone by card, or Apple Pay and Google Pay where your account supports them. The table is held while the link is open and settles itself when the money arrives. The same way, you can send a deposit link before a large booking and redeem the deposit against the bill on the night.
At the table and online
- QR ordering: guests scan the code on the table, order and pay from their own phone, through a Shift4 checkout.
- Your ordering site: online orders paid by card go through Shift4’s hosted checkout, so card details never touch your site.
- Gift cards: sold online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and redeemed at the till, with any balance kept on the card.
Matching the money
In Backoffice, upload Shift4’s settlement file and reconciliation matches your card takings and bank payouts against what the tills recorded, so a missing or short payout shows up before month end.
Setting it up
- You open a merchant account with Shift4, or tell us the one you have.
- We connect your Shift4 details to your Yumee account and set up your PAX A800, Verifone V660p or Verifone Victa terminals with your tills.
- For Apple Pay on your ordering site and gift card page, your web address is verified with Apple once.
Already have a card machine from another provider? Payments taken on it can be recorded on the till as a separate tender, but they will not flow through automatically. Ask us what fits your setup.
